Adding length to already knitted garment

I want to add length to the body and sleeves of an already knitted child’s sweater.

You can cut off the cuffs and bottom border, put the sts on your needle and knit to the length you want, then bind off. This works better when you have ribbing because it’s hard to unravel ribbing from a cast on. Now if the sweater was knit top down, you just have to undo the BO and knit to the length.
