Adding curly yarn to a felted bag

I’d like to add a row of eyelash-type fancy yarn at the top of my bag. I realize it won’t felt, as it is acrylic, but I’m wondering if the other strands surrounding it will felt it in tight enough to hold it or if I’ll be getting funny loose loops. It’s not going to be the very top row, it’s between some rows.
Opinions, please?

The feltable fibers will tighten up around it. You might want to do about 3 or 4 rounds of the eyelash so that it will be visible and it wouldn’t hurt to mix the rounds with the feltable fibers…2 eyelash, 1 feltable, 2 eyelash…etc~

You could also knit with a strand of the feltable and a strand of eyelash. (If someone already said this, I am sorry!)

That is what they do on the Huggable Hedgehog pattern on fibertrends.
