Adding a border to a wrap

Hi Everyone,

I started knitting a couple of months ago and am almost finished with a wrap for my eight year old daughter. I am pleased with it for the most part, but have ended up with uneven edges due to inadvertent increases (followed by compensatory decreases!). Is there a simple border that I can knit all the way around this piece to neaten it up?

Anyone out there from Austin, TX?

Any chance you crochet? You could do shell or picot which might help hide the unevenness.

Ladies, thanks so much for your responses. I ended up ripping out and starting over, but I now have some great options for a decorative finish.
