Acrylic Baby Blanket - Almost Done but Hate It Now

I too love Berocco comfort. It can get pricey for a decent size blanket. I used it for blankets I knit my boys but for gifts I use Caron Simply Soft - nice colors and washes well.
I used Plymouth encore to make winter hats and mittens for my boys and it is pretty scratchy in my opinion. I actually had to line my older son’s hat so he would wear it.

Good luck

THanks :aww: I didn’t come up with the color combo. They are the classic cabin socks that EVERYBODY here is wearing in winter (Don’t tell me this is a Canadian thing:teehee: ):

but they only make it in cotton and I wanted wool.

That’s a baby sock, right? The colors look so cute because they’re such a perfect mini edition of the big people socks. If it’s a Canadian thing then it a great Canadian thing and thanks for sharing it - I see a lot of socks like that this side of the border.

Wonderful pair! Glad to see that you finished both (no second sock syndrome for you). Nicely done.

Don’t despair entirely as the good thing is that acrylic is easy to wash and benefits greatly from some good fabric softener.

Some of the acrlyic/wool blends make washing wool easier but it isn’t the same as using all merino.

I used acrylic for Christmas stocking made fair isle and the squeakiness did go away as I was working with bamboo which absorbs the oils from my hands (cheated and used a little hand lotion).

I don’t mind acrylic as much when crocheting. Like you, I like natural fibers.
