ACK! it doesnt look right!

Ok Ok, I am still very new. and for some reason this easy pattern just doesnt look like the picture!

its a scarf, and it says to Slip 1, Yarn over, k two stitches together.

but I dont think I am doing this right, because after doing enough rows to get to see what it is looking like…it looks NOTHING like the picture on my pattern! ugh…

I dont know what I am doing wrong either. I am lost trying to find a video to show me how to do it.

There are videos here on how to slip, yo and k2tog, though not all together.

Is there a link to the pattern? What seems to be going wrong?

I just did a search for the pattern on line, but I cant find it. I have a paper copy.

I just dont know if I am doing any of it right… I dont know how to explain it.

I guess when I am slipping, do I just move it over, or stitck the need in like I am gonna knit but not. does that make sense?

Unless is says differently, I usually just move the stitch as if I’m going to purl when I slip. Are you doing the yo correctly? For a yo between knits, you can just put the yarn to the front between the needles and knit the next two together from there. It makes the yo stitch automatically.

I have no idea! oy! the lady at the LYS said that it should be easy for me to do. I guess I thought I understood it.

How far have you gotten? Sometimes it takes a few repeats for the pattern to look decent. Can you post a picture?

well… hehe I keep ripping it out, because it just doesnt look right. I will try a few take a picture.

if you go down to the accessies and look at the unique scraf in green. that is the one I am doing. there isn’t a pattern on line

OMG! I think I know what I was doing wrong!!!

it says to SL 1 *yo,k2tog repeat from * across.

and that is every row…

and I wasn’t missing the from * so I was slipping after the k2tog! DUR… ok I think I got it. what a poopy i feel like. hehe

I guess i just need some glass and a knock in the head to read the pattern better. hehe good thing it wasn’t a bigger project.
