? about k 3tog

I am making a hat and have to k3tog. It is making me nuts! I am using addi turbos and the yarn is slick and I am really struggling to get the needle through 3 stitches without losing them off the needle etc. Is there a trick to k3tog that I am unaware of???

TIA!

what I do with k2tog and k3tog is pull down the fabric under the stitches I have to knit, so the needle is easier to insert into the stitches.

You might try doing that. Else, I don’t have any tips I could give.
But this one really helps me quite a lot

Here’s an easy way to k3together–

Knit the first stitch and slide it back onto the left tip. Then pass the next 2 stitches over that one and slip it back.

Wouldn’t that equal a sl1 k2tog psso the other way round?
(Which isn’t 100% a k3tog)

I think if you sl1, k2tog, psso, you’ll have the k2tog leaning to the right but the psso leaning to the left.

Unless you mean to slip 1, k2tog, slip both back and psso the k2tog.

No, it would lean to the right, and would look close enough to k3tog. K 1, put it on the left needle then insert the right needle into the next 2 as if to k2tog but pass them over the single stitch. Leans right.

What I do, sometimes even on k2tog, is take the tip of the right needle and loosen up the sts a bit, then knit them together.

Thanks for the help! I will play and see what looks best!
