I am knitting the pi shawl from THE Best of knitters magazine and it nothing look like the person who post their pics in their blog at all and worst of all i used SIZE 3 KP needles and alpaca cloud yarn…by the time i finished my hair will be all GRAY…away i jumped the ship and maybe i will keep it as a doily…sigh! what a waste …:waah:
below is the pics i got from others blog to show you how many pattern you can have on pi shawl is out there… i stopped mine half way and convert into a shrug last night !
The idea of the Pi Shawl is that you can adapt any lace pattern to fit the shawl, so if you aren’t doing the basic version that Elizabeth describes in the Knitter’s Almanac, then the possibilities are endless.
How far into your shawl are you? Too far to think of frogging and starting again with larger needles? In the Knitter’s Almanac, EZ talks about using needles size 7 to 10.5 on her shawl.
You might want to see if you can get a copy of the Knitter’s Almanac and see what EZ herself has to say about the Pi Shawl. That may help you get through it with more enthusiasm.
The Pi shawl isn’t supposed to be any one design. The last photo you posted is the one with the lace patterns EZ herself put into her shawl. You can put in any patterns you please. No 2 look alike.
