A tip for you ADD knitters (KADD)

I can’t remember who coined the acronym, KADD (Knitters w/ADD) that I read this morning. Hmm…maybe it should be KWADD.

Speaking of ADD  , I really do have a point to make. If you’re anything like me, and you have a different WIP bag stuck in every corner, let me offer a suggestion. Include the pattern! If you’re not using a pattern and you’re just winging it, include a note with what you’re doing!

Today, for the first time in ages, I have the quiet house to myself. I decided to go through my various WIP’s, and starting with the simplest, FINISH THEM. About half of them don’t have a pattern, and my over 40 (okay, so nearly 50, but over 40 sounds better  ) year old memory is clueless as to what I was doing. Tucking the pattern, or a note to what book it’s in and the name of the project, in along with the WIP would’ve saved me much grief. :frowning:

I had to learn that the hard way, too. I also find that if I’ve made any changes to needle size I’d better just leave the needles in the WIP. I’d never remember, and if I did remember to write it down, I probably wouldn’t notice. I managed almost an entire fair isle sleeve on the wrong size needle. Oh well, live and learn.

By the way I have a LOT of needles because of this!

:roflhard: :roflhard:

Great tip, Rennagayle!

Did you have success finishing any of them?

Wanting this to be a day of accomplishments, I decided to stick aside the ones that are going to require some figuring :?? , and concentrated on finishing projects which were simple to see what I was doing, and I did finish two, and nearly a third one.

:waving: It was me!!! (the KADD thing) And I love your WIP bag suggestion. Right now, I only have one knitting bag & I just shove whatever I think I’ll want to work on in it. But the other day I had this “du huh” moment and realized that I should really just have multiple bags & one little pouch that contains my knitting tools – stitch holders, row counter, markers, pen, tape measure, etc. So, I will be knitting & felting myself a few bags & a pouch.

Thanks for the good idea, Renna!

Oh, good, Julie. I’m glad you read this thread. It’s been bugging me, trying to remember who coined that term, and I didn’t want to take time to go back and read ALL the threads  trying to find who it was; 'cause, after all, it’s important to give credit where credit is due.

Seriously…

speaking of credit…have you guys heard that someone is trying to publish an article about the “Booga Bag” without giving Black Sheep Bags credit? You can read more about it HERE That stinks!

Oh, I don’t think I need credit for something silly like that! I was just amused that anyone even read it!!!

And, yes, the Booga Bag thing stinks. I can’t believe anyone who is in the publishing business would stretch the rules to that limit. Simply because someone casts on a smaller # of stitches? Sheesh. I hope they can get this straightened out. I can tell you, I won’t be buying Belle Armoire any time soon!

I’ve never bought a Belle Armoire, but after reading the linked article about the Booga Bag, I know I also never will! That really stinks! :?eyebrow:
