Oh my. I ordered some yarn I love from e-bay because it was so much cheaper than at my LYS. When I tried to unwind the hank so I could roll it into a ball, I ended up with a giant tangled mess! I have spent literally hours trying to untangle this – finally finished tonight. :oops: I feel so silly. Is this unusual? Tell me it will get easier! Please!

I’m sure it will get easier!! Gosh…last hank I ordered from ebay did the same thing…altho…I don’t think it was the hank…i think it was the person (me) doing the winding into a ball…lol!!

I’ve had the same experience. I worked A LOT better when I got my DH to put both hands in the middle of the hank and hold it taut while I wound. Alternatively, I put it around my spread knees (quite attractive) and that kept it much straighter as I wound also.
