A seam to walk on?

Do you know of any seam that would be comfortable enough to walk on?

These socks are seamed underneath the foot and up the back of the leg: http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=103&d_id=4&lang=en

I’m struggling to think of a way to create the final seam under the foot without creating an uncomfortable ridge. Any thoughts regarding the Cast-on, the Bind-off, and sewing the seam?

Thank you, Ingrid! I have printed the page you suggested and will plan to experiment a bit with the edge-to-edge seam.

I’m also considering maybe a provisional cast-on and finishing off live stitches with a kitchener stitch seam, but I’ll have to experiment with that also.

I think I’d find another pattern.:shrug:

Anyhoo…I have seamed garter stitch and while I wasn’t thrilled with the seams they were flat. I just worked close to the edge.
