When a pattern stitch says it has a multiple of 16 stitches +1 , does this mean that I add 1 extra stitch to each multiple of the repeat in the pattern ? I am working on a pattern now that use this multiple of 16 +1.
it means the repeat is 16 sts and there is one extra st added to the total at the end. If you want to increase the pattern, you should increase it in multiples of 16 and then add one stitch. So you could work it as (16x2) +1=33 or (16x3) +1=49 and so on. The one extra stitch is tacked on at the end.
Thanks for the reply. That is what I was thinking but wanted to make sure before I got too far into the pattern.
