I’ve heard the patterns from Knitting Pure and Simple are well written, translation: easier to follow for a beginner. You may want to take a look at their site to see if anything appeals to you: http://knittingpureandsimple.com/

This was my first pullover. They also have a more fitted version now on the main page of the sweaters.

Well you can check the link in my signature to find acceptable photo sizes and how to post it.

Not sure what you mean by the first sentence though. :?? You mean you have a picture and you want to make a sweater like that? If it’s online somewhere you can just post a link.

Wow, you ARE ambitious, cutiepie…starting with a sweater as your first knitting project! Most people I know begin with a dishcloth or scarf.
But it looks like you’ve come to the right place for encouragement and help. Good luck!

@Jan in Ca- thanku
@WoodI- I’ve made a stole :slight_smile:

You are much braver than I. I spent nearly 20 years just making blankets, because they were square shaped. Then I jumped into making Christmas stockings, then branched out from there. The folks here at KH are some of the most knowledgeable people I’ve met. And Amy’s videos are very, very helpful. So, welcome and you’ve come to the right place.

Hello :slight_smile: after reading all ur comments i thot may be i should practice more before startin a sweater… So, m now knitting saturday market bag…m done with the body of the bag bt i couldn seam the sides well, its really ugly… all the videos only show how to seam the stockinet pattern… :frowning: :frowning: how do i get a perfect seam for different patterns ???

You dodn’t say what stitch you used for the market bag but here’s a mattress st seam on garter st that is very neat.

Oops sowie… the pattern link- www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/saturday-market-bag
I wanna try this bag again cuz i love it… pls help with the seaming :frowning:

I think I would use a sewing stitch, the back stitch to seam this bag. You could use several stitches in the closely knit rows, knot the yarn to secure it (without cutting it) and then let the yarn stretch long over the loop part of the seam until you get to the next knit rows. So you’d end up with a sewn seam on the knitted parts and a short length of yarn bridging the loops until the next knitted section. That should work and mimic the stitch of the bag. I’ve done similar seams on sweaters with drop sts.
Good looking bag and very practical too.
