A little confused with this pattern

Hey everyone (long time no type

I am trying out a pair of cabled fingerless mittens and the instructions confuse me about how it says to cable every 6th round, so wouldn’t that mean I need to do the cable 29 and in 31? What is the 10sts they are speaking of? Am I just knitting those 10 sts?

begin thumb gusset
Round 23: k4, pm, m1, k2, m1, pm, k4, p2, cable 6 front [continue
to cable every 6 rounds], p2, k10
Round 24: k12, p2, k6, p2, k10
Round 25: k4, pass marker, m1, knit to next marker, m1, pass
marker, k4, p2, k6, p2, k10
Round 26: k14, p2, k6, p2, k10
Round 27: repeat round 25
Round 28: k16, p2, k6, p2, k10
Round 29: repeat round 25-cable round-10 sts. between markers
Round 30: k18, p2, k6, p2, k10
Round 31: repeat round 25. 12 sts. between markers.
Round 32: K4, remove marker, k1, Move 10 stitches to waste yarn,
k1, remove marker, k4, p2, k6, p2, k10
Round 33-37 rounds: k10, p2, k6, p2, k10 (round 35 is a cable round)
Following 5 rounds: k1, p1
Bind of in pattern.

Welcome back!
The cable cross rounds are rounds 23, 29, and 35. There may be more but those are the only ones on the rows quoted. That’s every 6 rounds. When you repeat round 25, don’t repeat the cable cross.
There are several groups of 10sts. The 10sts that are held out for the thumb are just moved to waste yarn. Knit the next stitch and continue the round. When you come back to knit the 10 thumb sts you’ll probably pick up a stitch or two extra at the thumb. The other places with 10 sts are knit.

Ok I’m still a little confused but I’m a bit more clear now, I’ll give it a go and see what happens LOL. I’m sure I’ll be back when I screw up lol

So I did round 28 now I’m on 29 and got scared

So should round 29 look like this?

Round 29: k4, pass marker, m1, knit to next marker, m1, pass
marker, k4, P2, C6F, P2, K10???

because it says repeat round 25 but then it says cable round as well

It’s ok to cable on 29 (and again on 35). You’re making good progress. Are the mitts looking the way you hoped?

Alright I worked it out! They are a bit big at the fingers so next time I’ll probably go down a needle size for the ribbing on the hand.
Thanks again. Now to knit the second one!

How’s about posting a picture of the one you’ve done already? I’m eager to see what’cha knittin’!
