A knitting tip: Q-Tip

One of our readers on facebook sent this photo to me. It’s a q-tip being used to hold about 12 stitches off the needle. The cotton ends make it so it stays in place. Simple enough to stash a few of these in your knitting bag just in case you need them.

Thought I’d share it in the forum for those who don’t follow us there. Oh, and if you want to, you can follow us at http://www.facebook.com/knittinghelp

Great idea. Thanks. Sheldon, do you knit or are you do you just put the IT in KNIT!! ??? Just, I said. As if that’s not a lot. I know you’re one of us.

I know quite a bit of knitting theory through association with Amy. I was just saying to Amy today that I should actually do some knitting and put my working knowledge to good use. I have started projects in the past and enjoy it very much. It’s just that I don’t have as much time as I’d like. Between all the work I do on KH, and spending time with Amy and Erin (and very soon, a new baby boy), I barely have time for much else.

We have a lot going on, both at home and with work on this site. Maybe when things slow down I’ll pick up the needles again.

I saw this on FB today! It’s a great idea!

I’m not sure things will slow down for you for some time. But here’s hoping you can fit in some knitting time. Thanks very much for the Q-tip tip. Good one!

Lesseee, that ought to be in about 18 years…

But anyway. That’s a good tip, shows that anything can be used for a stitch holder or cable needle.
