A Fun Question!!!!!

Just wondering how everyone works on their projects!!!

Do u work on your projects one at a time or do u have multiple ones going at the same time???

I personally have multiple ones going!!! Right now I have 3: an afghan, a prayer shawl and a baby blanket.

So what about you?? One at a time or a bunch???

I often have a couple different sorts of things OTN at one time, which helps keep give me options to choose which one i feel more like picking up at a time based on my mood or how much distraction there is, etc. But I don’t really have duplicate needle sets since my kit is pretty streamlined, so this helps to curb the wanton spread of UFOs (in order to start a second project with similar yarn and needles I usually have to finish the first beforehand, or put the first on hold).

I do one at a time. Boring I know lol

I do one at a time too. Unless you count the needlepoint I started last summer. :joy:Then I have 2, but am just knitting right now.

One at a time for me too. I used to start different things at the same time, but found that one or two would go to the bottom of the basket, and by the time I resurrected them, I either didn’t want/like it or had lost the pattern. I have learnt to be strong to overcome the temptation when a new pattern catches my eye.

Oh I’m still struggling with that one! And with not buying wool too far in advance! I tend to have one project on my needles and the next one planned out and ready to go when I’ve finished my current one. If I didn’t do that I think hubby would divorce me! (unless it’s something for him of course… Which my next one happens to be lol)

I frequently have multiple projects otn. It depends on how interested I am in what I’m working on. If I get bored I cast on something else and bounce back and forth unless I have another to just pick up but I still might cast on another anyhow. I’m consistently inconsistent. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Great question and fun replies.
I tend to be a serial knitter too. There’s almost always a small project like a hat for travel but the sweaters tend to be one at a time, even baby sweaters. I love hearing about the different ways that knitters work projects and manage a stash (or not).

I try real hard to do them one at a time. I have a hard enough time dealing with one set of instructions, never mind having to deal with two!!! :joy:. I do confess that I am a pattern addict… if I spot a pattern I really like I’ll grab it for future use. No idea when that will be, but it’s nice to know I have lots of choices!!!

I Like to have multiple ones going because I am usually working on an afghan and I like having something small/portable to take when I go out somewhere!!! Well, when I used to go out somewhere!!

I want to need a one for the road project again.

Lol! Indeed.

If I absolutely love what I am knitting and excited to see the finished result I stick with it.

I don’t recall ever having just one item on the needles though. Lucky I have lots of needles

I used to have several projects going at once and found that I never seemed to finish anything or if I did, it took forever. Now I do one project at a time and I actually have things to show for it. I’ve knit 3 sweaters and a shawl in the last few months. I have also stopped buying yarn for my stash. It literally just sat there as wasted money. Now I can actually afford the really good stuff.

I usually limit myself to 3 projects- one that is mindless but extremely time consuming as it is lots of stitches on small needles, boring. The other projects will be finished much faster so I keep my sanity.

Since the majority of my knitting is test knits I prefer to have 4 to 8 going at a time, generally with 1 or 2 being crochet. When u get down to just one project I start getting antsy, worrying about what I will work on next. I find myself working slower and slower until I find new projects. Of course, as soon as I’m all committed I start getting invitations that I have to turn down. I’m a bit slow right now though since I’ve only been out of a cast from breaking both arm bones near my wrist for less than 3 weeks. Right now I have 2 knits going and a crochet project that won’t be sent to me until the end of the month.

Knitting just one at a time for me. Kind of like I read books

My biggest problem is blocking. I do a lot of lace - baby blankets and shawls - that really have to be blocked. With the stay at home order, I’m having my own private block party, just finished my third shawl and have 2 more and 2 blankets to go…

I have 2 summer sweaters I am checking gauge in order to get started. I just finished a toddler sweater so I am eager to get these sweaters on the needles!

Great party idea! I should have my own block party but I’m stash busting.
