I started knitting a little while ago, so I’m new to this hobby. I started out with 25 stitches and suddenly (I count my stitches in every row) I now have 24 stitches. How do I remedy the situation?
Just add a stitch somewhere. But first, check to see that one didn’t drop off the needle like a run in a stocking. If it did, then pull it up using a method in the Tips section.
Thanks Suzee,
How do I find the dropped stitch? Alternately, how do I add a stitch
Look at the Increases sections for several different methods. To see if you’ve dropped one, stretch your work slightly width wise and see if there’s a hole and/or a loop.
OK, I found where my mistake was and where I dropped the stitch. Now how do I fix it and take care of that missing stitch?
Go to this page http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips and down to Fixing Mistakes / Fixing a run/dropped-stitch. If you don’t have a crochet hook, you can use the tip of another needle.
