A couple of question about "Kitty Eggroll"

Hello! I am faily new to knitting and have been lurking on this board for about a couple of weeks now. :hiding:

I hope one of you wonderful ladies and gentlemen answer a question or two for me.

I am knitting the Kitty Eggroll on Knitty.com for my psycho, but lovable, yarn-thieving cat, Jack.

It looks like the entire piece is done in stocking stitch.

My “problem” area is:

Work in St st for 3.5 inches, ending with a WS row.
Next row: BO 12 sts, K to end
Next row: BO 12 sts, P to end

Is “ending with a WS row” a knit row, or a purl row? I would think it was a purl row, since the next row is a knit row. (Told ya I’m new!)

and…

In the row where I am binding off 12 stitches and purling to the end, do I bind off like I am purling?

I am sure I will have a lot more questions as I go a long. Thank you in advance!

Yes, the WS would be the “purl” side in stockinette stitch. I’m not sure if the bind off part is done in purl on the purl side or what. At any rate I suspect t he cat won’t care either way. :roflhard:
