#707 Frida baby cardigan

I am having trouble following pattern, it is a top down baby sweater, I completed the collar but when it comes to the Yoke, you are supposed to Work left front cable then *k to 2 stitches before marker ,kfb, k1, SM, kfb,; repeat 3 times from * but there aren’t enough stitches to do that

Hello!!

Where are u missing stitches??? Which part of that row??

Knitcindy

I’m not sure how to work the second row of the Yoke, do I follow the pattern for the left front cable on the first page then continue with row 2? I have 72 stitches (making the smallest size) I thought I should have 75

Truth be told I am lost on how to read the pattern after collar

Welcome to KH!
I’ve made this little sweater and it turns out very nicely.
After the collar turn to the wrong side (WS). Row 1: P1, k1, p6,k1,p4, k1 and then purl to the last 14sts. K1,p4,k1, p6,k1,p1 on the last 14sts. Slip the markers as you come to them. You won’t need to do anything at the markers. All the WS rows will work this way.

For Row 2 go to the directions for the Left Front Cable and follow row2 of the cable then knit to 2sts before the marker. Kfb, k1, slip marker (SM) then kfb. There’s an increase on either side of a stitch at the marker. Repeat this from the asterisks in your pattern, that is work to 2sts before the marker, kfb, k1, SM, kfb. When you get to the last 14sts, work the directions for row 2 in the Right Front Cable.

See if that gets you started.

Oh thank you I will try that, it wasn’t clear to me, I’ll let you know how it works

Hi there, I am now at Row 2 in the Yoke but why do I go to Row 2 of the Left front cable and not Row 1 of the Left front cable?
Thanks in advance

Row 1 of the yoke is a WS row. You’ve already worked row 1 of the cable patterns (WS rows) when you worked Row 1 of the yoke. Row 2 of the cable patterns is a RS row. That’s what you’re up to.

You are amazing Thank you so much, may I contact you again if I get stuck?

Absolutely. We’ll all be here to help and I hope we get to see the finished sweater.

Hello it’s me again, so I am making the 3-6 month size in the Frida baby cardigan and I missed creating the left front cable and realized my mistake when I got to the right side. Also I think I should have 87 stitches and I count 83, normally I would abandon project without someone to show me but I’m determined to make this sweater, if I’m too much of a bother let me know

Hello,
Me again, well here I am,

It’s very often difficult when you start a project to get all the parts of the pattern in place. I find the first couple of rows can be a problem and then the remainder goes well.

As long as you’re so early in the project, you could tink back to the beginning of either row 3 and start the cable pattern there or to row 1, depending on where the right front cable pattern started.

Doing that may also fix the stitch number but don’t worry too much about that. You can always work 4 more increases at fronts and back on an extra row if necessary.
