3 X 3 rib question

I’m working on a 3 X 3 rib afghan square. While I am knitting it pulls together but if I stretch it across the needle it is 9 inches wide. So, the question is… when I block it will it stay at 9 inches or do I need to measure it when it is pulled together?

If you’re planning on putting it in an afghan, use the stretched measurement so that the seaming works properly.

When you block ribbing, it does pull out, and stay out.

If it’s acrylic it can’t be blocked, but the weight of the afghan will stretch it out fine anyway.
