2x2 ribbing decrease

Hi there!
I’m currently working on my first sweater and I have a little trouble understanding the pattern. I’m currently knitting a 2x2 rib and I have 106 stitches on my needles, the pattern is telling me to decrease evenly 14 stitches. I know how to do that in stockinette but how can I do that in 2x2 rib ?

Hello
Is this a transition row, perhaps between a hem and the body of the sweater? After the ribbing will you be changing to stockinette?
If so, you can just work 2 together at the spacings you have worked out to make them even and it is not going to be noticable that the rib was disrupted because the next row is a different pattern stitch. K2tog or p2tog will be fine.
My personal preference is the p2tog on the p2 columns because I like how it makes a single purl bump and the knit columns don’t get bent (leaning) by using k2tog. However this is just personal preference. I will, if the stitch count allows, move my decreases to the p2 columns.

If your next row is not stockinette but something else then there may be some other stitch to take into consideration, a cable which you want to flow from the ribbing for instance.

Hi! It is a transition row, I forgot to mention that. I’ll try the p2tog, thank you!
