2stC

Hello I am doing a mini hat ornament that calls for a 2 stitch cable (2stC). Here are the instructions on how to do this:

“Knit 2 stitches together leaving them on the left needle, then knit in the right hand stitch again, slide to right needle.”

I’m having a hard time understanding how to do this. A more detailed instruction would be greatly appreciated!

Just do exactly what it says, and it helps to be doing it, rather than picturing it… K2tog, leave on the needle, then insert the right needle into the 1st st of the k2tog and knit it, then let them drop off the left needle.

Thanks for your help. When it said “knit in the right hand stitch…” that’s what threw me off. I was knitting into the stitch on the needle of my right hand. The way you word it makes more sense.

Well when I went to do it, I end up with leftover stitches. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Maybe I’ll just look for another pattern.
