2012 New Year's Eve Party - 5th Annual!

It’s time for our 5th Annual New Year’s Eve Party!
:woohoo: :cheering: :woohoo:

This Saturday evening, December 31st, our online party will last 4 hours (from 11:30 PM to 3:30 AM, Eastern US time).
Happy New Year 2012!!

The most exciting part of our celebration will be PRIZES!!
:cheering: :woohoo: :cheering:

Since I have been blessed with such an excellent collection of knitting books, I’ll be offering some of them as prizes.

To be eligible for the prizes, just post a reply to this discussion.
Prizes will be given at 12:00 and 12:30 for each time region (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific). I will be drawing names out of a hat to determine the winners. The prizes will be random, so it’s the luck of the draw what you’ll get!
Winners do not have to be online at the time of the drawing. I will notify you by private message in the forum if you are a winner.

In addition to our prizes, we will be knitting a 2012 KH Forum memento together. This year, I’ve designed a small folding pocket, to hold knitting tools. (Free Pattern HERE.)

If you want to join us in knitting the pocket, just bring some size 7 or 8 knitting needles, and worsted weight yarn in 4 contrasting colors. (The original project is being made with KH Logo colors: Purple, Red, Yellow, and White.) Gauge is not important for our project.

Last year, we had a wonderful time during our party, talking, knitting together, and sharing stories about our New Year celebrations all over the world.

I can’t wait to see you all again this year!
:muah:

I will probably be present, being the wild party animal that I am. LOL

Please enter me in the drawing. I used the last book I won during a previous year’s celebration.

Thanks for hosting again, Sandy!

I will certainly add you to the list, my friend!
I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since I started having these parties, can you?

Sounds like fun. I want to be in the drawing, too. :3

You have helped me a great really this year.Thank you!

Sounds like fun! Please add my name to the hat!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!:woot:

Love KnittingHelp.com — you taught me to knit! Please add me to your New Year’s list:knitting:

I actually have those colors in worsted in the stash – I don’t know if that should make me happy or worried

Maybe this is the perfect motivation to finish a little experiment I have on my size 8 needles which has been sitting at 3/4 done for weeks now. Well it will be the perfect motivation once I hide my size 7s from myself for a week or so.

I will be here! You guys have been my NYE companions for 5 years now, why change a good thing! :muah: :knitting:

What a wonderful idea! Sounds like great fun.

This year, I am giving away some knitting books from my collection. If you want to win, just post a message here, and I will put your name in a hat for the drawing that night.

The names will go in one hat, and the prizes will go in another hat. Every half hour, I will be drawing one piece of paper from each hat, so you never know what you might win!

Here are the prizes, in no particular order:

Oooooh, terrific! I think I have a variegated/ombre yarn with red/orange yellow. I know I have purple and white yarns. That’s definite.

Books. “While you’re wishing, you may as well wish big.” I heard that a lot when I was a kid, but whether it was my mom quoting her mom, or some other older relative (dad quoting his mom, maybe?), I can’t remember ATM.

My “big wish”? Crossed Fingers My name will be drawn and I will win a book with the word “Sheep” in its title! (There are two such books.)

But just knowing that others are doing the same thing at the same time will be lots of fun! I’ve done Internet quilting parties before, but this is the first year I’ve known how to knit, so this will be my first Internet knitting party. :woohoo:

Thanks, Shandeh.

I will be here…knitting on my couch! What a great way to bring in the new year! Thank you!

Looking forward to the festivities!

Me, too! Please toss my name in the hat.

I think I’ve been at every one of these shindigs!! And that shawl book is calling my name…

A-U-B-U-R-N-C-H-I-C-K…come to mama…

:teehee:

I’m going to try to “stop in” some time during the evening!

I would love to join in the fun!! Thanks
