Berroco has this really cute tam I was thinking of knitting…
So I clicked on yarn amounts to see how much Ultra Alpaca it would take to make the hat, and they have 2 HANKS of Ultra Alpaca listed JUST for the hat!!!
Ultra Alpaca comes in 100gram hanks. That 200 grams for a stinkin’ hat!!!
Are they mad? Or would a cabled tam really use an insane amount of yarn?
I mean, I made Topi with one 50gram ball. How could ANY hat use more than a 100gram ball?

Though they say that because of the pattern stitch there’s a lot of stretch - and cabling does take up quite a bit… but 200 grams is still a lot… :??
You probably don’t use the whole 2nd skien -maybe it’s just slightly over 100 g - but you need to buy 2 hanks to get that?
Maybe its not the whole 200. Maybe its like 115 so you only need a little bit of the second skein? 
I wonder if the hat is knit double stranded…so you need two hanks to do that???
The Basic Hat pattern says you need about 3 oz for a regular fitted hat. In this case, one hank is 3.5 oz, so you’re probably only using part of the second skein. I think there’s too much hat there for one hank.
