- What are your favorite circulars for socks?
- What are your favorite ribbing/patterns? Thinking super easy to remember here…for those portable pick up while sitting in traffic projects…

I like doing socks on 2 circs or magic loop…both on my KnitPick Options. I like doing them on Addis too. And absolutey positutely I do them toe-up and two at a time! (I like how the toes turn out toe-up better than top-down).
As far as patterns…I haven’t really branched out into anything fancy yet. I just do a straightforward stockinette toe and foot, M1 increases for the gusset, and short row heel turn, and the “sl1 k1, ssk/p2tog p” heel flap.
Then I just do stockinette round and round til I get bored, and about two inches of k2p1 ribbing at the top. Voila! Just bind off super-loose. I always bind off too tight and have to fight to get the things over my heel  .
I love K2 P1 ribbing. Still doing plain vanilla socks here, too. Am looking forward though to everyone sharing their favs. :teehee:
Sensational Knitted Socks has LOTS of great simple ribbing patterns. I get bored with plain old 2x2 ribbing. You can make a “waffle rib” by alternating 2 rows of 2x2 rib with 2 rows of straight purl…
I made the waffle rib one in Kelly’s class
I also like K3 P1 combo if your CO sts are divisible by 4. I never thought of K2 P1, though, I’ll have to try that. Thanks for the tip!
I have that book too
so…the waffle ribby - what happens if you knit the rows instead of purl them??? do you still get an interesting effect???
It would be worth it to swatch it out & see if you like it!
Just took a class in socks on circs - and the teacher said next time she will have the group swatch - I was one who got strange results and had to re-start several times
