I crotcheted a scarf for my mom for xmas, and had some of the yarn left over.
I wanted to make her a matching hat, but I didn’t have enough yarn and didn’t want to go buy more. So, I made a headband instead.
I think it might be too big. It fits on my head, but if I was jumping around or something, it would probably fall onto my neck. At least over my eyes. So, I’m hoping, that since my mom has more hair, normally wears lots of layers anyway, and maybe has a bigger head, it’ll fit her ok. If not…oh well. She’ll use it for something, I guess.
I didn’t have a pattern for it. I just kinda went with it. I could frog it and start all over…but…I really don’t wanna.
I love the color of the yarn. I’m normally not a pastelly/pink/soft colors person, but something about the yarn is appealing to me. And my mom loved the scarf (even with it’s few mistakes…or maybe because of them.)
I can’t remember exactly what kind it is, but I got it from Walmart when I was working there, and it’s called Kitten. That’s all I remember. I saw it one night stocking the shelves and knew I had to have it. It’s Kitten! How could I not?!
My second FO:
A pair of pocketbook slippers found in this thread.
The ones I made I really like. The yarn (which feels kinda crappy when you’re working with it) feels great on my feet. I’m definately making at least another pair of these. I’ll probably do a few less stitches though as I have really small feet (size 6 US) and these are a tad too big. Great for wearing to bed though!
I intend on getting some iron on or sew on soles and making them a little more functional/wearable for outside. You can already see them getting dirty (bottom pic). The bottom pic also shows more true to color than the top two.
They are fantastic around the house and would love to wear them in public. Everyone at work comments on them while I’m wearing them around.
