2/2LPC and 2/2RPc cable stitches

I have a pattern for a Celtic Braid cowl but in the pattern there are 2 stitches I am not familiar with and they are : 2/2LPC and 2/2RPC. I saw a video on you tube but there was not a close up view and the person never indicated when the stitch was ended, she just kept knitting on. How are they done?

Hi there!

Usually a pattern will have a portion called: Stitch Definition or something like that. It’s where they define all the abbreviations used in the pattern.

Or you could try to contact the pattern designer.

For a LPC or left purl cross, slip 2sts to a cable needle and hold in front, purl the next 2sts, then knit the 2sts from the cable needle.
For a RPC slip 2sts to a cable needle and hold in back, knit the next 2 sts then purl the 2sts from the cable needle.
Possibly this video for the 2/2RPC will help:

Thank you so much Salmonmac that video helped explain the term so now I understand how to do it.
