Row 1 (RS) K 1, *(bring yarn to front (as if you're going to purl), slip next
4 sts (all you have to do is move the sts from your left needle to your right needle w/o knitting or purling them), wrap (put the yarn behind your needle as if you're going to knit the next st), place slipped sts back on left needle (move the same 4 sts back to left needle), wrap around) 3 times – Wrap st made, k 6; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k 2.
I don't think I'm creating this properly because it is getting bulky, hard to maneuver, and seems to be creating new stitches. If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it.
I wouldn't worry about the bulk too much b/c you are essentially squishing 4 sts together. But creating new stitches? I don't see any incs in the instructions so I'd worry about that. Perhaps your yarn is in the wrong place relative to the next st your going to work. For example: if your going to knit a st, you don't want the yarn in front of the work; that will create a new st.
I hope that helps a little... :??
