I've got a dilemma that maybe someone here can help with.
I'm making a baby bunting that's fairly simple & straightforward in terms of the pattern. It called for stockinette stitch...but I changed it to Brioche after doing the first 6 rows in garter because I thought the Brioche would make a softer, cushier fabric (and it DOES).
Brioche is yo, sl 1, k2 tog forever after doing a foundation row of yo, sl 1, k1. Sooooo, the foundation row adds stitches in order to do the brioche stitch.
OK, now I'm at the bind off for the shoulders where I'm supposed to bind off a number of stitches on each side of the back piece, retaining some stitches in the middle in order to do a garter stitch border once it's put together.
I tried to "bind off in pattern", but I'm not sure I accomplished what I set out to do...looks kinda stretched out and there are more neck stitches than I'll need to do the border (well, of course, duh....). There are 1/3 more stitches overall on each back piece than I originally cast on.
Would you do a row of some sort of decreases in order to get back to the original number? Like maybe k1, k2 tog or something?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
