hi, i am relatively new to knitting and most of my techniques are picked up from youtube or knitting magazines. honestly, i don't even know one person other than me that knits. as i'm surfing ravelry for some cute vintage patterns, i immediately notice there are some pictures that just look so professional and finished. a lot of them are using a piece of contrasting yarn to hold the beginning stitches i think. what a great end result! what is this called? i don't even know what to search for and i've looked up some generic terms like "contrast yarn to hold beginning stitches" etc. here is an example.
- the site won't let me post a picture because i'm new. but here is the link.
thanks so much. i always have difficulty when i'm fishing the project or seeming it to tell what is the correct part of the stitch to seam so i think this would be great to help!
