I went to a meeting at a local senior center today, and they had some yarn lying around, so I was looking at it (knowing that I've blown my yarn budget until April) longingly. One of the directors was there and noticed me yearning, and offered me pieces from the "good yarn". I walked away with this:This is all the yarn she gave me, one large ball of handspun, undyed wool, and two one-pound cones of sock-weight chenille. The wool up closeThe label inside the blue cone (the red cone is the same).I've never heard of this stuff, and I have no idea what the brand of the wool is, but the director told me that they were donated by a woman who used to work at Webs, so I think I scored big time. There's over 3000 yards of yarn there! :happydance:
Your lucky day! :happydance: :happydance:
didn't see what you said between the pictures   [/edit]
Great find!! Going to dye that yarn??
Yeah, now I just need to figure out what to DO with it! :rofling: I know I want to make a felted case for my mp3 player, to hang it on my dash so I can mess with it while I'm driving without getting in an accident, but other than that, I'm at a total loss! I thought maybe socks out of the chenille to start, but that will leave me with a good 1000 yards of each to still figure out!
I'm thinking about it. I've never dyed wool before, and it's already in that nifty center-pull ball......Decisons decisions!
isn't that the exact yardage you need for a house cozy?
Dyeing wool is fun. You should use kool-aid to dye it. It's fun :rofling:
