where cna if find a good sock pattern that is knit in the round? I have self-striping yarn so dont need anything fancy. Would prefer an ankle sock if that exists! thanks
www.knittingpatterncentral.com has a kabillion patterns to choose from.
thanks i have found so many patterns but i dont have DPNs so i am looking for one in the round
DPNs DO make socks in the round. If you plan on using circular needles you will need to use 1 LONG circ and do magic loop or use 2 circular needles. The do have tiny circular needles, but they are hard to find and kind of hard to use from what I understand.
There are videos here to master the techniques.http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/advanced_techniques/Scroll down and you'll see a bunch of links for 2 circs and magic loophttp://misocrafty.squarespace.com/sockknittingresorces-/Here's one pattern I found, but there are lots.http://www.burninghand.org/2circsockpattern.html
I just learned how to knit socks on a 12" size 2 circular and it was very easy! Just used dp's at the end. I learned at my local yarn shop and don't know if I can share the pattern or not. But I am also looking in the patterns for the same thing!
http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/kmstripe-socks.html?noImages=Here's a good, basic sock that shows patterned yarns very well. There are lots more socks at lion brand, also.
