Just wondering if the seed stitch uses more yarn than stockinette? It takes me longer to do because of moving the yarn back and forth, but I´m wondering if I would need the same amount of yarn for a tank ( for example ) if I changed the stitch from stockinette to seed stitch.
I think it would tend to use slightly more yarn than straight stockinette.
I think it would use more, too, but I'm not sure how much.
You could always do a test swatch and that should show you if it uses more. Make one of each and weigh it or measure the yarn by raveling.
I think it would too, like ribbing, because of switching the sts. The only way to do is measure out say 20 yards, CO 20 sts or so and see how far that gets you in both.
