Ok, I have the front and the back finished on my grandson's sweater and am starting the sleeves and have run into a problem with the increases. Here are the directions:
(I have already knit the first five rows for the cuff) Change to stockinette stitch. Increase 1 st each side every 4th row 6 (10,11,11) times and every 6th (0,0,2nd) row twice-38 (42,46,50) sts.
I took a note pad and wrote out row 1-44 and inserted the increase rows every 4th row, but then I couldn't figure out which row the second increase went. I am using the largest size directions , in other 11 times and 2nd time.
First off, should I do the first increase on row 4, then rows, 8,12,16,20,24,28,32,36, 40, 44? That will give me 46 stitches. Now if I increase every 2nd row twice, that is row two and row 4 and I have already increased the first time in row 4. What am I doing wrong?
I know this will take some time for someone to look at, but I sure would appreciate the help. I am stumped at what I am not seeing.
