I'm beginning to knit a sweater and have cast on (longtail) my stitches for the back. My understanding is that this is the best cast on for sweaters because of it's elastic edge. My issue is that the pattern calls for you to start on the right side but when you use this cast on method you end up on the wrong side. Should I knit a row to get to the right side?
Thanks for any help
The cast on doesn't really make a WS or RS, it's just getting the stitches on the needle. LT CO may appear to 'knit a row' but after you have more rows it looks less like an actual row. Just do the first row as given in the pattern.
