Ha! That sounds like a good idea, maybe I'll try that next time, too. There's lots of notes about modifications in the projects, including people who knit them in the round, and people who made them for husbands, etc. Lots of ideas. And once you make one slipper, it's pretty apparent how to proceed, even if you add stitches. In my case, for a size eight women's, using a size 5.0 mm needle, I cast on 58 instead of 50 and just worked the pattern from there. I have wide feet, and they (the slippers) are plenty wide. I also used Jeny's Surprisingly stretchy bind off which works much better for the cuff.
