I am very new to knitting...i have the basics down...yay!
However, I am not understanding what the "star" (*) means in a pattern? Any help for a newbie? Thank you!!!
The star is there to designate an instruction that needs ot be repeated. i.e. K1 P2 K2 means you would knit one stitch, then P2 K2 P2 K2 for the rest of the row.
Thank you so much for your quick response! I feel so dorky asking, but i was so confused:)
Thanks so much again!
You're welcome! I remember not wanting to knit from a pattern because they looked so skeeery. But really, once you learn the little stuff like that, they're not so hard to work with!
You are SO RIGHT!
I am working on a scarf...and the pattern didn't tell me what the star meant! haha!
Again, thank you so much and I look forward to "seeing" you around!
It's amazing how after you do a couple of patterns, everything starts to get easier- it's almost like learning a new language. Suddenly, it's not so terribly intimidating anymore!!
