I am completely new to knitting. All I know is how to cast on and knit & purl stitches. I am running into glitch after glitch, though.
One recent glitch I ran into is that the yarn I bought had a cut in it, and both ends were just tied back together with a knot. The knot just slipped apart when I tried to just keep going as is. The ball of yarn just came this way, and I ran into it only after getting several rows into a hat.
Does anyone know how to tie back in when the yarn is basically snapped like that? Keep in mind, I do not understand any of the books. Even the pictures in the books are still photos of handwork seems impossible to interpret & reenact.
Thanks so much to anyone that can describe what to do in a way more understandable than these knitting books.
