I just sold my lendrum and upgraded to a Ashford Joy. I'm 5'2 and I found the Lendrum hard to carry around and put in the car.
The Joy actually feels heavier because the weight is less spread out, but it's much easier to carry and fits in the overhead on planes (the lendrum doesn't).
I like the joy much better, but that's just me. I think the Lendrum DT goes for $450 now and my Joy was $550.
The lendrum has the options to get a bigger plying head and a lace flyer so if you want those the Joy won't do, but if you really want the chanse to put yours on a plane then the Lendrum won't do.
Everyone loves the lendrum. I liked it, I didn't love it. I love my Joy. I had my Lenny for a year and I COULD have sold it for the same I purchased it for but I sold it $50 cheaper because it was a friend and I believe used things shouldn't cost as much as new ones, even if kept well.
Hope that helps! Lendrums are very popular but they don't come with all the manuals and easy to order parts like the Ashfords do.
The most affordable and easy to use I think are the Louets, and they have a brand new folding one. Louets are so easy to use, they are nice. I just didn't like how they looked, but the folding one is pretty.
As for the directions (lendrum), I had to call someone who had one to figure out how to get the tension thing to work at all, but I had never seen one before so maybe now I could figure it out myself!
It's all very personal. Worst case you get the lendrum and like it and use it and a year or two later want to try something different so you sell it for nearlyt exactly what you bought it for and try something new. No big deal. Weels are shockingly easy to sell used.
