Anyone have any problems recently with taking their knitting projects as a carry-on? I've gotten a few mixed messages. The TSA states that they are allowed BUT be prepared to mail it back to yourself if security decides not to allow it. A postal worker I spoke with today about preparing a package so that I could mail my knitting back to myself said I wouldn't be able to do so anyway because they've removed all mailboxes from the airports.
He also said that his daughter was not permitted to take her knitting on the plane. My plan at this point is to buy cheaper needles and some cotton dishcloth and take my collection of dishcloth patterns. That way I'm not out much if I must leave it behind.
