I'm knitting the chick from Zoe Mellor's book, Knitted Toys. Her charts and patterns don't include any instructions or suggestions for how best to do the increases (or decreases) to make the different shapes for the toys. As per the suggestions from other posts in the forum, I've been using the knitted cast-on so far to work the increases.
This worked great for casting on additional stitches at the beginning of the rows, but now I'm to cast on stitches at the end of the row as well.
If I work to the end of the row, then I have no more stitches with which to work the cast-on. Should I create the stitch before the last stitch and should I continue to use the knitted cast on, or better to use some other M1? If this is happening on the wrong side (perl side), would using the knitted cast-on before completely finishing the row make it look weird?
Thanks for the help!
