I have purchased a new sweater (with tags still attached) from a thrift store. It's very pretty and cost only $3.00.It is made with multiple rows of designs with the yarns knotted at the side of each row. However, the sleeves are about two inches longer than the tips of my fingers. I knew this when I bought it, but I was thinking that there is a way to shorten these. They are not worked in the round. They are made from the cuff up (I believe) and the the sleeve is shaped. Can anyone point me to a great link that explains and shows the procedure for shortening these, or is it not possible with this type of knitted project? I need to shorten them about four inches. BTW, it is made from cotton and ramie. Is ramie a wood product? Thanks.
