This is the pattern I'm working from: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=216 , actual pattern: http://www.bernat.com/data/pattern/pdf/instruction_216.en_US.pdf
They suggest using "bernat denimstyle (3.5 oz/100 g)" wool to make the sweater. I'm actually just looking to make it in a plain color. So I was wondering how I'd go about choosing the right type of wool, especially because I'm straying from the suggested material.
The pattern also suggests using sizes 4½ mm (U.S. 7) and 5 mm (U.S. 8) knitting needles, so would it be possible just to buy wool that was meant to be knitted with those sized needles?
