I'm with most of everyone else here and not really sure what pacing is. I just went though my WIP, orginizing them and counting the preemie hat that I started 2 days ago and I think I will finish today (it's with bulky yarn and size 10 needles) and the project I'm starting today I am DOWN to 15. Yes I said down to 15. I had over 20 a few weeks ago and have finished a bunch. 2 of those also just need a little work, one is a purse that needs a button, and I think I may have found the right one and the otheris a shawl that I need to find the time and space to block. With 3 little ones it's hard to find the time ans space at the same time. :teehee: So only 13 are actually on the needles.
Some are long term projects, like afghans, (I have 2 of those). And hats in a series that I'm trying to write patterns for that will take me a little while to work out all the kinks. And lace shawls, I have 3 of those, but I think ones going to get frogged and started over, not happy with the needle size.
Then others are quicker knits, like a cuddle bunny that will be really fast and a toddle vest that won't take very long.
And then there's my mindless knitting project that's going to take forever.... it's a poncho that I'm knitting with fingering weight yarn on size 5 needles. I WANT this one to take a long time. I have found that having something that's mindless is good for big projects. Good to have in my bag for when I have to wait for some reason and it's easy to pick up and knit and put away when I need to. And I love the yarn, so that makes it so I really enjoy it even more.
I know that having this many projects would drive some people crazy... but I like it better this way.
And it's somewhat interseting... I always seem to finish several right about the same time. But I always start more right away.
I really do LOVE the entire process!
I say knit things when you want to. Knitting should make you happy! :knitting: And if that means waiting just remember why you want to wait. Why you don't like having more than 2 WIP at a time.
