You can use a piece of waste yarn or another circular needle. I prefer waste yarn because it's easier to knit the other stitches while those are waiting.
Waste yarn - thread a yarn needle with some finer, smooth yarn and thread it through the stitches as they are sitting on the cable now..so purlwise. Make sure the waste yarn is long enough so they don't slip off. I make it long enough to tie loosely, but maybe that's just me.
Another circ - Use a smaller needle size than the one you are using for the project and thread it through purlwise. If you are using Options I would remove the needle(s) and use the caps to prevent the stitches slipping off or use a long enough cable it's not a problem.
