I am making a hat ("It All Comes Together" by on Kraemer) and the decreases are a P3Tog. The stitch before this is a YO. Is there a trick to do a YO and then a Purl? I did once around, and I ended up with extra yarn in the front, so I know I am doing something wrong. I thought I would do a YO as usual and then bring my yarn forward to purl. Thanks for any help provided.
What's the stitch before the YO? If it's a purl st, you just wrap the yarn around the needle like doing a purl st. If it's a knit st, yes, make a regular YO, then bring the yarn to the front between the needles.
