I posted this on Ravelry earlier today, but I can't resist sharing it here too.
This morning I saw a TV ad for something called a “Snuggie” – have you seen this thing?
They start out saying something like, “Are you cold in your house, but you don’t want to turn up the heat? Blankets are okay, but they don’t stay in place, and your arms are trapped so you can’t reach for the remote.”
The answer is the Snuggie, a big fleece blanket – with sleeves. You slip it on in front of you, so the opening is in the back; the top edge of the blanket lies in folds around your neck and shoulders. There are a couple of colors to choose from, but the ones they displayed were all a brilliant scarlet. They show a bunch of different people doing stuff while wrapped up in this thing … holding a child, a pet, sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows, and one lady who’s sitting on her sofa knitting!
Wait a minute -- if she’s cold, maybe she could knit herself one of those handy dandy things called a sweater, it’s like a portable blanket with sleeves … and it has the added benefit of NOT making you look like a cult member!
