So I am working on a gauge swatch for a sweater I want to make. I am terrible about choosing the right yarn for patterns. I like what I like. So I just adjust the gauge accordingly. This one I have now the gauge is quite a bit off, so I wanted someone to check my methodology so I'm not so completely off that it is a waste.
Gauge should be 23 st for 4"
Mine is 18 st for 4" which is 22% larger.
The difference in the cast on between the large (110 st) and the small (98 st) is only 11%, so I can't just make the small size.
SO, I need to cast on like 86 stitches (22% less than 110) to start in order for my gauge to work out.
Does this make sense?
