I have had sock fever all week long, and so far I've been averaging a sock a day on size 5 and 6 DPN's. About two or three years ago I had the bug then, but I have no clue as to what had happened to the socks I had knit. These are more or less slipper socks, but I have worn them in shoes over a pair of think cotton socks in the winter.
For the red socks, they fit nicely, but I have decided that they have a special purpose. I get dry and cracked feet this time of year, and often at night before I sleep I have to lotion them. I usually have to wash the sheets and blankets the next morning because they are greasy. So why not use these socks to lotion up my feet at night? They are 100% acrylic so they are easy to wash. Plus, my feet feel soft in the morning by trapping the lotion. :happydance:
The blue socks are just intended to keep my feet warm. I used Wool-ease, and I did a checkerboard type pattern on the instep.
Lastly, the blue-ish pink-ish sock. It was knit on size 5's, waiting for a partner. I used Bernat Coordinates baby yarn to try out. I have six skeins of the yarn, and it just feels too scratchy to be used on a baby. I'm trying to get over my fear of smaller needles but just working my way down.
