Hello everyone! I'm very new to knitting. I have practiced for a few months on basic stitches and I am trying to branch out. I'm attempting an easy hat pattern. I haven't started the project and I already have a question. For shaping the top of the hat, my pattern says (I just listed a few of the rows I don't understand):
Row 1 (RS): k2, *p2tog, k2; rep from * to end-56 sts.
Row 4: *P3tog; rep from * across, end p1-13 sts.
I understand k/p2tog to decrease, but what does it mean when it says repeat from * to end-56 sts. Does that mean to pearl 2 together then knit two for 56 stitches-and that will be then end of the row? Then on row 4, does it mean to purl the last 13 stitches? I'm just not sure of myself. Thanks in advance, Kristen
