So, the Yarn & Falafel group on Ravelry decided to finally have an annual gathering of Israeli knitters! We all met up in Tel Aviv, in the Ganey Yehoshua Park and had a great time :woot:Of course, not all Israeli knitters showed up, mostly from the Ravelry group, but we had a fabulous time either way! Everyone brought food and drinks and we had sort of a picnic thing. Two of the members taught the others how to spin on a drop spindle.
I must admit I failed, but i will keep practicing at home. So i came home with a spindle and some merino roving! One of the spinners tried to spin my dog undercoat with the merino and it turned out so well!! So now i'll keep practicing and eventually spin her hair and knit a hat:thumbsup: I also got some yummy baby yarn, by Novita, from someone who brought yarn to destash, so i took back more than i brought! We shared techniques and helped each other learn new things. Anyway, here are some photos I took while there. I even managed to get my hands sunburned!
This girl dyes yarns and spins, so she brought some to show and sell and taught some spinning too!
So, anyway, I had a great time and we hope to make it a semi-annual event and meet again this Fall!:cheering:
ETA: I hope my pictures are not too big, it's Medium size from flickr
